The new Griffin PowerMate is a media controller that lets the user either click or twist the cylinder around. Such a controller can help scrolling media (music, film, long documents), but that’s about it.
The new PowerMate should replace the current one by this summer, providing wireless connection (using Bluetooth), at $60.
Quickly said, I wouldn’t pay that price even if the design (blue led, polish aluminium, etc) looks fine. And I’ve seen movie makers use graphic tablets to post-produce their movies, which looked far more convenient and efficient.
By simply adding an optical laser under this device could let me think of a mouse replacement device…
