Epson has presented an updated version of their Moverio augmented reality glasses, code name BT-200. 60% lighter, front camera, motion sensors are the new features of this second generation. Here is a quick demo:
The glasses are provided with 2 shades to add contrast for outdoor usage. Of course, we could image a controlled shading of the glasses themselves with simple electrical power to align crystals.
Compared to the Google Glass, they look a bit more intrusive, but using both eyes and avoiding looking at a corner up right should be far more comfortable for the user.
Finally, these glasses will be available in March or April for $700 which make them quite affordable. Now, as usual, the difference will come from the apps running this device because they will make the difference.
